Box Hill Golf Club's weekly Open Competition is held on Tuesdays (as well as Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays). This individual strokeplay competition is open to all golfers who hold a current Golf Australia Handicap. Maximum handicap: 36 for men, 45 for women. The entry fee is $6.00 AUD, payable before commencing the round. Players must report to the golf shop 10 minutes before hit-off time. Competitions are played according to the rules of golf as set out by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of Scotland and the United States Golfing Association. Monthly medal competitions include a provision that ties must be played on the next Saturday as a stroke round or as directed by the match committee.
