Costa Navarino - The Hills Course

4 upcoming events

The Hills Course at Costa Navarino is an 18-hole, par-72 layout measuring 6,251 metres from the back tees, located at the Navarino Hills development in the Messinia region of southwest Greece. Designed by two-time Masters champion and Ryder Cup legend José María Olazábal and his design team, it opened in February 2022 alongside the adjacent International Olympic Academy Golf Course, making Costa Navarino a 72-hole resort destination. The Hills Course was ranked among Continental Europe's top 120 courses shortly after opening. Set on the inland side of a hilltop ridge above the Ionian Sea coastline, the course looks out over rural Messinian countryside, rugged mountains and small villages rather than the sea views that characterise its sister courses. The terrain features significant elevation changes throughout, with dramatic descents, blind and semi-blind shots adding variety to the strategic challenge. Olazábal's design incorporates undulating fairways, carefully positioned bunkers, and large, contoured greens that reward precise approach play. Notable holes include the short par-3 5th at 132 metres, the demanding par-4 6th on the front nine, the par-3 15th played across a gorge, and the par-4 17th, a Cape-style hole presenting a risk-reward decision off the tee. The Hills Course has hosted the European Legends Tour alongside the Dunes Course.

Ballyshear Golf Links

Ballyshear Golf Links is an 18-hole, par-71 course located at Ban Rakat Club in Samut Prakan province, approximately 40 minutes east of Bangkok and 25 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Designed by American architect Gil Hanse and opened for member play in 2021, the course is a deliberate homage to The Lido Golf Club — the celebrated Charles Blair Macdonald and Seth Raynor design from 1917 that closed during World War II and is widely regarded as one of golf's great lost courses. Hanse structured Ballyshear around the same principle as The Lido, basing each hole on a classical "template" from golf's heritage. The Redan at North Berwick is echoed in the 16th, the Eden hole from St Andrews appears at the 3rd, a Biarritz-style green bisected by a gully defines the 8th, and a blind Alps approach modelled on Prestwick's 17th features at the 10th. The 606-yard 4th, nicknamed "The Channel," presents two fairways separated by water and sandy waste. Set on flat former rice paddy land, the course achieves an authentic links character through firm, fast playing surfaces, angular greens, extensive bunkering, and wide sandy areas. At around 7,085–7,100 yards from the back tees, it rewards strategic shot-making and ground game management over pure power. The clubhouse was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. No notable professional tournament history is on record for the venue.

Nikanti Golf Club

Nikanti Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Nakhon Pathom province, approximately 50 kilometres west of Bangkok, Thailand. Opened in May 2014, it was designed by Thai architect Pirapon Namatra of Golf East, who also designed the Banyan Golf Club. The course is notable for its unconventional "triple-six" layout — three returning loops of six holes each, rather than a traditional front and back nine, with every loop containing two par-3s, two par-4s, and two par-5s. This structure, inspired by the six senses in Buddhist philosophy, allows play to begin at three different points on the course. The layout stretches to 6,789 yards from the back tees and is set across former rice paddies with naturally rolling terrain, providing elevation changes and uneven lies that are uncommon among Bangkok-area courses. Despite its modest length, the course demands precise shot-making and course management, with water hazards, mounding, and fast undulating greens presenting consistent challenges. Wide fairways offer some forgiveness from the tee, though scoring well remains difficult. No notable professional tournament history is on record for the venue.

Majestic Creek Country Club.

1 upcoming event

Majestic Creek Country Club is a 27-hole parkland course located in the foothills approximately 20 kilometres west of Hua Hin, around 30 minutes from the town centre. Designed by Dr. Sukitti Klangvisai — who also created Loch Palm in Phuket — it opened in 1993 and sits against a backdrop of mountains marking the border with Myanmar. The facility also includes an onsite resort. The 27 holes are divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: Course A (Creek), Course B (Lake) and Course C (Waterfall), which can be combined in different 18-hole configurations. Together they total approximately 7,123 yards at par-72 for the standard 18-hole round. The design makes full use of the natural terrain, with valleys from the surrounding mountain range supplying water to a maze of streams and lakes that wind throughout the property. Water comes into play on almost every hole across all three courses, combined with strategic bunkering and palm tree-lined fairways that provide significant roll on firm, well-struck drives. Zoysia greens were renovated with TifEagle turf in 2012. Notable holes include the par-5 closing hole on Course B, a 588-yard challenge requiring accurate driving before a stream and lake crossing on the approach, and the par-3 5th on Course C, which features a waterfall as its defining characteristic. The course also reportedly contains Thailand's longest par-5 at 772 yards.

Cabot Highlands - Old Petty

Highland 2 upcoming events

Cabot Highlands is home to Old Petty, an 18-hole championship golf course designed by acclaimed architect Tom Doak, located on a 420-acre property in Inverness, Scotland. The course sits within the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, featuring a rugged landscape that hugs the Moray Firth shoreline. Old Petty exemplifies throwback golf design with infinity edge greens, rumpled fairways, natural bunkers, and spectacular open views characteristic of links golf. The course represents Doak's vision of golf as it once was, emphasizing natural aesthetics and challenging terrain. Set against a backdrop of rich Highland heritage and dramatic coastal vistas, Old Petty offers a premium links experience. As part of Cabot Highlands' 36-hole property alongside Castle Stuart Golf Links, Old Petty has been recognized among Scotland's top courses, ranking #34 in the Top 100 Courses in Scotland 2025. The destination combines championship golf with broader outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, and fishing, and is situated just ten minutes from Inverness.

Trump International Golf Club, Dubai

Dubai 1 upcoming event

Trump International Golf Club Dubai is an 18-hole, par-71 championship course measuring 7,205 yards from the back tees, located within the DAMAC Hills development near Dubai Sports City. Designed by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner — Hanse having also designed the 2016 Rio Olympics course — it opened in early 2017 as the first new 18-hole layout in Dubai for seven years. The course carries a rating of 73.9 and slope of 131, with Bermudagrass throughout. Carved from 500 acres of previously flat, barren desert, the design required significant earthmoving to introduce the elevation changes, undulation, and drainage systems that give the course its character. The routing takes a links-influenced approach, with wide fairways, strategic bunkering, waste areas, and large, notably undulating greens that present a significant challenge on and around the putting surfaces. Water features prominently on several holes, with both the 9th and 18th closing around a central lake in front of the 30,000 square foot clubhouse. Notable holes include the short par-4 8th, played to a raised and awkward green, the par-4 13th where the green is entirely surrounded by sand, and the par-3 17th requiring a carry over water to a well-protected green. The front nine fairways are shared in places, with the 1st and 9th running as a double fairway. The facility also includes a floodlit 9-hole par-3 Academy course and Dubai's first TrackMan driving range.

TPC Sawgrass - Dye's Valley Course

FL 1 upcoming event

Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass is a par-72 golf course designed by Pete Dye, Bobby Weed and player consultant Jerry Pate. Dye's Valley opened in 1987 and is adjacent to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The course was originally designed for the PGA Tour Champions and measures 6,838 yards at par 72. The course presents a challenge with its undulations on the fairways, sweeping greens and water that comes into play upon every hole, and though milder than the Stadium Course, golfers must make accurate shots while fighting winds from the Atlantic Ocean, which is one mile away. The course features pot bunkers and deep grassy basins around greens, water hazards lined with bulkheads, and large mounds bordering many holes, with Pete Dye's design trademarks present including a peninsula green angled over water. During a 2006 renovation, more than 300 trees were added and several bunkers were reconstructed to make them more challenging. One of the most notable holes is the 350-yard third, a par-4 that makes up for its modest length with a fairway that slopes sharply to the left and a tightly manicured collection area twelve feet below the green level. The course has recently hosted the Web.com Tour Championship.

Sân Golf Bà Nà Hills

1 upcoming event

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship mountain course measuring 7,857 yards from the professional tees — the longest layout in Vietnam — located at the foothills of the Ba Na Hills mountain range, approximately 25 minutes inland from Da Nang. Designed by former world No. 1 Luke Donald in conjunction with IMG, it was his first golf course design anywhere in the world. Developed by Sun Group and opened in 2016, it was named World's Best New Golf Course at the World Golf Awards that year and has since won Vietnam's Best Golf Course and Asia's Best Golf Course on multiple occasions. Unlike the coastal courses in the Da Nang region, Ba Na Hills plays away from the sea at elevation, in a cooler and typically calmer setting amid native hardwood forest and mountain scenery. The course offers five sets of tees ranging from 7,857 to 5,173 yards. The outward nine is the longer and flatter half, featuring back-to-back par-5s at the 4th and 5th, with streams and ponds coming into play on holes 4 through 9. The back nine introduces more pronounced elevation changes, with the par-4 10th climbing to the highest point on the course. The signature hole is the par-3 16th, a dramatic downhill one-shotter to an island green. The par-3 2nd plays 260 yards from the back tees and is one of the most demanding short holes on the course. Front nine fairways are framed by pine forest with doglegs creating blind tee shots, while the back nine is more open, featuring distinctive bunkers with grass rolled over their faces. All 18 holes are floodlit for night golf.

Da Nang Golf Club

2 upcoming events

Da Nang Golf Club (now operating as Legend Da Nang Golf Resort) is a 36-hole facility located in the Ngu Hanh Son district of Da Nang, Vietnam, on the central coast near My Khe Beach. It sits close to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites — Hoi An and Hue — and offers views of the Marble Mountains, the East Sea, and the Cham Islands. The Norman Course, designed by Australian golf legend and former world No. 1 Greg Norman with lead architect Harley Kruse, opened in 2010 as the first true links-style course in Southeast Asia and Greg Norman's first design in Vietnam. It stretches to 7,160 yards at par-72 across 150 hectares of coastal dunescape on naturally sandy soil. The layout features blown-out bunkers, firm and fast fairways, rugged waste areas, swales and hollows, and wild seaside vegetation framing the playing corridors. Notable holes include back-to-back par-5s at the 4th and 5th, a long par-5 10th winding toward the Marble Mountains, and the signature 148-yard par-3 16th, played to a slightly raised green framed by the East Sea and Cham Islands. The Norman Course has ranked as high as 99th in Golf Digest's World's 100 Greatest Courses. The Nicklaus Course, designed by Nicklaus Design and completed in 2020, occupies 200 hectares of lower-lying floodplain to the west. It takes a contrasting character to its links neighbour, with water featuring prominently across most holes as fairways skirt swamps, paddy fields and the Coco River on both nine-hole loops. It is noted as the first bulkhead course in Asia and all 18 holes are floodlit for night golf.

Hoiana Shores Golf Club

1 upcoming event

Hoiana Shores Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 links course measuring 7,004 yards from the championship tees, located on the central Vietnamese coast approximately 8 kilometres south of Hoi An and 45 minutes from Da Nang International Airport. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. — his first course in Vietnam — it opened for preview play in late 2019 and officially in 2020 as the centrepiece of the $4 billion Hoiana Integrated Resort development, which covers almost 2,500 acres of coastline. It was named World's Best New Golf Course at the 2020 World Golf Awards. The course is built entirely on pure sand across a coastal property that the design team describe as close to the dictionary definition of linksland. Constructed by Hong Kong-based Linksshape, the layout was shaped sympathetically around existing dunes and Casuarina trees native to the area, with wind-sculpted sand allowed to settle naturally during construction. Tees and fairways are grassed with Zeon Zoysia, while greens use TifEagle Bermuda. Wide fairways accommodate the constant coastal winds off the Eastern Sea, though missing them carries a significant penalty. The routing plays as two returning loops, with the early holes featuring greens nestled into dunes before the course opens up dramatically on the back nine, where holes 15, 16 and 17 play directly along the shoreline. In keeping with the cultural identity of nearby Hoi An — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the City of Lanterns — the course uses red wicker lanterns in place of flags on all 18 greens.

Luffenham Heath Golf Club

Rutland 10 upcoming events

Luffenham Heath Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-70 heathland course measuring 6,563 yards from the back tees, located near South Luffenham in Rutland — England's smallest county. Founded in 1911, the course carries one of the more distinguished design pedigrees in English inland golf. The original layout was sketched by Harry Colt and C.H. Alison, before James Braid made substantial revisions between the wars, leaving his signature cross bunkering, grassy wastes, and subtly contoured greens throughout. C.K. Cotton and Donald Steel made further modifications, and a major renovation was completed in 2004 under Martin Hawtree, adding new tees, deepening bunkers, and extending the course to its current length. The entire site is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The course sits on elevated, undulating common land and routes holes in constantly changing directions, meaning the prevailing wind rarely plays the same way twice. Firm, fast fairways lined with hawthorn, gorse, oak, and pine demand accurate driving, as the thick rough offers little prospect of holding greens from wayward lies. The layout is notable for the quality of its par-4s, most of which bend and dogleg through the terrain. Notable holes include the 7th, with an approach over gorse to a fiercely bunkered elevated green, and the par-3 17th — the signature hole — a downhill one-shotter of 201 yards through mounds and bunkers that typically plays into the prevailing wind. Luffenham Heath served as an Open Championship Regional Qualifier for the 2013 Open at Muirfield and ranks consistently among the top courses in England.

The front nine holes, added during the 2005 expansion, feature an open scenic design with well-maintained greens. The original back nine holes retain tighter characteristics with tree-lined fairways and equally high-quality greens. The course presents a moderate challenge that emphasizes accurate driving over length. The clubhouse, converted from the original farmhouse, offers catering and bar facilities welcoming both visitors and societies. The club maintains traditional dress codes and provides modern booking facilities through its online reservation system.

Ballyliffin Golf Club

County Donegal 2 upcoming events

Ballyliffin has established itself as a premier destination for links golf enthusiasts, evidenced by notable endorsements from professional golfers and its hosting of various competitions including the Great North Links Challenge and Links Doubles events. Al Zorah Golf Club

Ajman Emirate 1 upcoming event

Al Zorah Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located in the Emirate of Ajman, approximately 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport. Opened in December 2015, it was the first golf course in Ajman and the first Nicklaus Design layout in the UAE. The course was designed by Nicklaus Design senior associate Dirk Bouts and stretches to 7,169 yards from the back tees, with paspalum grass fairways and greens throughout. The course is set within over one million square metres of protected mangrove landscape alongside 12 kilometres of coastline, giving it a distinctly natural character uncommon among desert golf venues. A unique feature is the tidal system that affects several holes, with water levels rising and falling during the day, subtly altering the challenge from morning to afternoon rounds. The layout incorporates 10 par-4s, four par-5s and four par-3s, with two lakes also coming into play. Signature holes include the par-3 6th, which plays over a lagoon to a peninsula green, and the par-5 15th, a double dogleg with water in play throughout. The par-4 13th on the back nine, rated stroke index 2, features water running the full length of the left side. Managed by Troon Golf and GEO-certified for environmental sustainability, the course is noted for generous fairways that reward strategic positioning over raw power.
