Sponsor Us

Open Golf Events is free for golfers, and always will be. Finding an event, searching by location or date, following a course — none of it costs a penny, and none of it ever will.

It's free for organisers too. If you run open events at your course, or you organise an amateur tour or society, we list your events at no charge. You can claim your course or tour, correct our data and add events yourself, and we won't ask you for money to do any of it.

So sponsorship is entirely optional. To be straight about what it does and doesn't do: it buys prominence. A featured course or a featured event is promoted above the ordinary listings, and we always mark it clearly as featured so golfers know what they're looking at.

We won't pretend that's cost-free to everyone else: promote one event to the top of a location page and the others do move down a place. What we won't do is take anything away. Every course and tour keeps its full, free listing whether they sponsor us or not, we'll never remove or downgrade an entry because someone declined, and the same effort goes into the accuracy of everyone's data either way.

Our search is left alone entirely. Filter by date, distance or handicap and you get results in plain date order — a featured event is still badged as featured, but it doesn't jump the queue. Sponsorship money simply covers the running costs of the site: servers, bandwidth, and the AI processing that reads several thousand golf course websites every week. If that appeals, here's what we offer.

Golf Courses

A large share of our inbound search traffic arrives through our location pages — golfers looking for “open competitions in Surrey” or “amateur golf events in Portugal”. Being the featured course on those pages puts you in front of exactly the people already looking for somewhere to play.

Featured Course — Region

£49

per year

  • Featured course slot on your region's location page
  • 2 featured events included
  • First refusal on the following year

Featured Course — Country

£199

per year

  • Featured course slot on your country's location page
  • 8 featured events included
  • First refusal on the following year

Both packages are available now for the whole of 2027. Additional events beyond those included can be featured at £20 each. Take a package for 2027 and you get first rights to renew it for 2028 before we offer it to anyone else.

All prices on this page are subject to VAT for UK customers.

What the featured course slot looks like

It sits at the top of the location page, above the event listings, with your photos, your logo, your green fees and a link straight to your website.

Tour Operators, Societies and Federations

If you run a tour, a society or a series of open events rather than a golf course, individual events can be featured at £20 each. There's no package to buy and no minimum — feature the one event you most want to fill, or all of them.

Featured Events

A featured event carries three benefits:

1. Highlighted everywhere

Wherever your event appears on the site, it's visually marked out from the listings around it.

2. Top of the listings

It sorts to the front of the results on the location pages relevant to it, ahead of the ordinary listings.

3. Home page exposure

It may also appear on our home page among the upcoming events we show to every visitor.

Advertising

We carry a single, discreet Page Sponsored by advert on our pages — no pop-ups, no banners chasing you down the screen, and no third-party ad networks. Adverts are sold on a cost per impression basis, starting from as little as £2 per 1,000 impressions, plus VAT for UK customers.

You can control where your adverts appear: by country, by region, or right down to the individual course page a golfer is looking at. A club fitter in Hampshire can pay only for Hampshire golfers; a golf tour operator can appear only on pages for the destinations they sell.
