Box Hill Golf Club's weekly Open Competition is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The event is open to all golfers with a valid Golf Australia Handicap. Maximum handicap is 36 for men and 45 for women. The entry fee is $6.00 AUD, payable at registration. Players can book their tee times via the club website, app, or by calling the golf shop. Players must report to the golf shop 10 minutes before hit-off time. Competitions are played according to the rules of golf as set out by the Royal and Ancient Scotland and the United States Golfing Association. Monthly medal competitions are held with ties played on the next Saturday stroke round or as directed by the match committee. Players have right of way on the course over non-competition players.
