The Cradle ☆ Follow

The Cradle is a 9-hole course at Pinehurst Resort featuring 789 yards of golf for a par of 27. Designed by golf architect Gil Hanse, the course features holes ranging from 56 to 127 yards. Opened in 2017, the course is located near the Resort Clubhouse. Hanse's design incorporates the native sandscape and wiregrass common to the original courses of Pinehurst.

The nine-hole test of short-game skills includes varied approach angles and deep bunkers, and undulating greens make up for the length the course lacks while still keeping the experience a worthwhile challenge. The green complexes are surprisingly large for such a short course but are undulating with tiers, swales, false fronts and drop offs. Since its opening on September 28, 2017, the course has recorded over 700 cumulative holes-in-one. The course is designed for golfers of all ages and skill levels, playable in approximately 1-1.5 hours with no formal tournament history but known for its relaxed, recreational atmosphere.
