Deer Lakes Golf Course is an 18-hole course located in Salem, Kentucky, approximately 30 miles northeast of Paducah on Highway 60. Set on 300 acres of naturally contoured terrain, the course winds through six lakes and features 40-50 species of trees that create spectacular fall foliage displays. The layout incorporates streams, foot bridges, and large rock formations throughout the scenic landscape. The course is notable for its natural setting and historical significance, with a portion of the Cherokee Indian Trail of Tears running through the back nine. An original iron bridge from 1898, once part of the historic Golconda Road stage coach line, has been relocated to hole 15's tee box. The course features distinctive trees including a 150-foot Tulip Poplar near hole 12 and a 300-year-old White Oak measuring 16 feet in circumference on hole 8. A five-mile concrete cart path connects the holes through wooded hills. The course maintains an irrigation lake fed by the natural Butler Spring, containing over one billion gallons of fresh water. Wildlife is abundant throughout, with wild turkeys, deer, and numerous bird species native to the region, particularly around Sandy Creek which borders much of the property. The 4,000-square-foot clubhouse, constructed from Cherry Bark Oak harvested on the course, is available for events and tournaments.

The Par 72 Deer Run Golf Course at Sun 'N Lake Golf Club was opened in 1976 and is a classic Don Dyer designed golf course, featuring long holes and obstacles to challenge even expert golfers. The 18-hole course at the Sun 'n Lake Golf Club facility in Sebring, Florida features 6,731 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course has Champion Grass greens and 419 Bermuda Grass fairways. Local golf course architect Ron Garl redesigned a couple of holes in 2003 and converted the 18th hole to a par 3 with an island. Number 17 is the toughest hole on the back nine, playing 379 yards from the White tees with a large pond in the middle of the fairway, with most golfers favoring the left side to avoid being blocked out by trees, and a good drive still leaving a long to medium iron into an elevated green protected on either side by sand. The 18th hole is a unique par 3 that plays 128 yards from the white tees to an island green. Every year, a number of prestigious golf tournaments both local and national call Sun 'n Lake in Sebring home, with many playing on the longer Deer Run Golf Course. The community is home to two championship golf courses, which have been voted the number one golf course in Highlands County for four years running, Deer Run and Turtle Run.
