The Changhua Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 championship layout located at the border of Changhua City and Huatan Township in Taiwan. Designed by club designer Chang Tung-tsan, the course is situated on the rolling hills at the foot of Bagua Mountain, with an elevation of 150 meters. The facility was initiated by a group of golf enthusiasts in 1978 as a shareholder-owned club, with the front nine holes opening in April 1981 and the back nine completing in late 1984, leading to the official opening of the full course in February 1985. The terrain is characterized by undulating hills and a warm, dry climate that remains mild throughout the year. The setting offers expansive views, with the front of the course overlooking the famous Bagua Mountain Grand Buddha statue to the north. To the northwest, players can see the cityscape of Changhua, and on clear days, the Taiwan Strait is visible to the west. The course is designed to integrate these natural landscape features, providing a scenic backdrop for play. Designed by Robert Trent Jones and his son Rees Jones, the course opened in 1970. Located as a golf-only facility, the course features rolling fairways, towering hardwoods and pines, pure white sand, gently flowing creeks, and challenging greens. On its opening day, Gene Sarazen praised the course's difficulty and strategic shot requirements, while its design philosophy of 'hard par, easy bogey' is reflected in its slope rating of 144. More than half the holes provide inviting drives from elevated tees. Babbling creeks intersect numerous holes, and the greens feature angles, varying widths and depths, and innovative designs requiring precise putting strokes. The course was ranked in Golf Digest's top-100 list from 1973-2004, reaching a high ranking of 50th in 1989-1990. The course was renovated in 2001 by Robert Trent Jones' son Rees. The Chanticleer National Senior Invitational tournament began in 2011 to provide a premier championship venue for elite senior golfers.

The final hole, the eighteenth, serves as a strong finish with a lake left of the green and bunkers guarding both sides. The course also features a practice facility with a driving range, short club range, and two putting greens near the clubhouse.
