Set against the stunning backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains in Palm Desert, Chaparral Country Club is home to one of the Coachella Valley's most engaging and deceptively challenging golf experiences. This 18-hole shorter course was masterfully designed by Ted Robinson Sr., one of the most prolific golf course architects in California and a defining figure in desert golf design. Though compact in length with a par of 60, the course spans 3,914 yards from the back tees and offers a mix of six Par 4's and twelve Par 3's.
Affectionately dubbed "The Little Monster" by Robinson himself, the course packs a punch with tight fairways, elevated greens, and strategically placed hazards that test even the most skilled players. The course is characterized by 13 strategically placed lakes and 45 bunkers, demanding precision and strategic play. The course rating is 59.0 and it has a slope rating of 94 on Bermuda grass. The course opened in 1980. Robinson's signature water features and strategic design elements remain central to the course's challenge and visual appeal.
