Notable holes include the short par-3 5th at 132 metres, the demanding par-4 6th on the front nine, the par-3 15th played across a gorge, and the par-4 17th, a Cape-style hole presenting a risk-reward decision off the tee. Enniscorthy Golf Club

County Wexford 21 upcoming events

Enniscorthy Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 parkland course measuring 6,104 yards from the back tees, situated at Knockmarshal approximately 2.5 kilometres from the town of Enniscorthy in County Wexford. The club was founded in 1907, with the original nine-hole course believed to have been laid out in the grounds of St John's Manor before the club moved to its current location, where W.C. Pickman of Portmarnock set out a nine-hole course. Additional land was acquired in the late 1980s, enabling Eddie Hackett to expand the layout to 18 holes by adding seven new holes and remodelling the original nine to produce eleven new ones. Pat Ruddy oversaw further improvements during the 1990s, before Jeff Howes added two holes and made additional modifications in 2007. The course is mature parkland in character, with tree-lined fairways, rolling terrain, and the Blackstairs Mountains providing the backdrop. The course is maintained with the ecosystem in mind, avoiding fertilisers and insecticides harmful to the natural environment, resulting in a rich variety of flora and fauna throughout. From parts of the course, Vinegar Hill — the site of a significant engagement during the 1798 rebellion — is visible, and cannonballs from that era have reportedly been found on the grounds. The layout features an unusual structural characteristic in that back-to-back par 5s appear twice in the round, at the 4th and 5th and again at the 10th and 11th. The most demanding holes are the left-doglegging 8th and the right-doglegging 17th, rated stroke indices 2 and 1 respectively. The club has a strong competitive history, winning multiple Leinster provincial titles and five All-Ireland titles across various team competitions since 2006.

The layout features a mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s, with notable named holes including Whinny Bank, The Viaduct, The Precipice, and Hills O' Hame. The course demonstrates characteristic Scottish moorland design with holes named after local landmarks and geographical features of the surrounding landscape. For example, hole 4 (Grahams Road) plays as a par 4 from the men's tees but a par 5 from the women's tees, while hole 13 (Stey Brae) follows a similar pattern. Multiple par 3s are distributed throughout the round, providing variety in hole lengths. Golf Lleida & Country Club

Golf Lleida & Country Club is an 18-hole course measuring 6,195 metres to a par of 72, located 11 kilometres west of the city of Lleida in the municipality of Raimat, in Catalonia, close to the border with Aragon. The club was established in 1992 by the Raventós Espona family as the centrepiece of a planned sports and residential complex — the first golf course within 100 kilometres of Lleida, which until then had no local course despite a sizeable golfing community. The first nine holes were designed by the Pepín Rivero architecture studio and inaugurated in April 1994, with the second nine developed by a team from the Higher Technical School of Agrarian Engineering of Lleida and completed in 2000. The course is laid out on two distinct levels: holes 1 to 5 occupy the flat ground adjacent to the clubhouse, while holes 6 to 18 descend into and run through a valley below. The surrounding landscape is a striking mix of vineyards, fruit trees, oak and pine woodland, with views extending to the Aragonese plains and the pre-Pyrenean foothills. The Pepín Rivero design philosophy emphasised wide, flexible fairways suited to all abilities, with water hazards on selected holes providing strategic interest without making the course prohibitively demanding. The signature hole is the par-3 6th, which plays 158 metres from tee to green across a 50-metre drop in elevation — one of the most dramatic one-shot holes in Catalonia. The course has no significant professional tournament history but has produced several players who have progressed to the European Tour circuit. In 2023 the facility transitioned to private management under the Golf Lleida & Country Club brand, replacing the former Raimat Golf Club identity.
