The course is located in the award-winning community of South Riding in Loudoun County, just 25 miles west of Washington DC. Routed over gentle hills and between mature hardwood trees and grassy meadows, water does not come into play for the most part and the course is not overly bunkered. Instead, there are strategic fairway bunkers and a few more greenside that reward golfers who think their way through the holes. One of the most memorable holes is the 351-yard par-4 eighth, an intimidating dogleg left with many ways to play it. Golf Digest nominated the course for "Best New Course" in 1998, and Washington Golf Monthly Magazine voted South Riding to its "Top 100 courses in the Mid-Atlantic."

Located in Edgewater, Maryland, just outside the state capital of Annapolis, the course is cut through a hardwood forest with fourteen bridges over water and valleys, with abundant wildlife including bald eagles. The course features bent grass with a rating of 71.4 and a slope rating of 136. The course straddles Solomons Island Road about five miles south of its intersection with US Route 50, with high-end homes of the South River Colony community dispersed around the golf course. Originally developed with a loyal local following, the course was converted to a private golf club in 2007. The 18-hole layout hosts member leagues and tournaments throughout the year. The facility features a championship course, restaurant, fitness center, and golf simulator lounge.
