The championship golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect Dan Maples and opened for play in 1997. The 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course features a cozy comfortable clubhouse and excellent practice facilities. The course plays to 7,148 yards from the tips but offers four sets of tees, starting at just 5,001 yards. The course is located in the award-winning community of South Riding in Loudoun County, just 25 miles west of Washington DC. Routed over gentle hills and between mature hardwood trees and grassy meadows, water does not come into play for the most part and the course is not overly bunkered. Instead, there are strategic fairway bunkers and a few more greenside that reward golfers who think their way through the holes. One of the most memorable holes is the 351-yard par-4 eighth, an intimidating dogleg left with many ways to play it. Golf Digest nominated the course for "Best New Course" in 1998, and Washington Golf Monthly Magazine voted South Riding to its "Top 100 courses in the Mid-Atlantic."
