Strathmore Golf Centre

Perth and Kinross 8 upcoming events

Strathmore Golf Centre is a 27-hole facility located at Leroch, near Alyth in the Strathmore valley, Perthshire, Scotland, overlooking the surrounding countryside towards Blairgowrie. The centre opened in 1996 and comprises two courses: the 18-hole Rannaleroch Course and the nine-hole Leitfie Links. The Rannaleroch Course, the main layout, was designed by John Salvesen — a former R&A Captain who also designed Charleton and Elmwood in Fife — and plays to par 72 over 6,454 yards (SSS 72). Built in a minimalist style with little earth moved, the course uses the naturally rolling former farmland to create varied terrain. Wide fairways and large, undulating greens characterise the layout, which routes as two returning nine-hole loops. The par-3 4th and 17th both play from elevated tees with views across the valley, while the signature hole is the par-5 5th, a dogleg played from an elevated tee requiring a carry over a pond. The course opens and closes with par fives, with only three holes playing uphill, making it physically undemanding despite the natural contours. It won Scotland's Best Golf Course in the Under £75 category at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2022. The Leitfie Links is a compact nine-hole layout of par 29 over around 1,666 yards, comprising seven par threes, suited to beginners and warm-up rounds. No notable professional tournament history is associated with the facility.

Styal Golf Club

Cheshire

Styal Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course measuring 6,089 yards to a par of 70, set across 160 acres of Cheshire countryside near Wilmslow, close to Manchester Airport. The course opened in 1994 and was constructed with USGA specification greens throughout. The layout is relatively flat by Cheshire standards, making it an accessible and physically undemanding round while still offering a genuine test of accuracy and course management. Water hazards feature on a significant number of holes, placing a premium on accuracy, while the greens are well protected by strategically positioned bunkers. The par 4s and 5s require confident long iron play, and the variety of hole designs means no two holes present the same challenge. Both the 9th and 18th greens finish close to the clubhouse, a practical feature that suits the club's busy visitor trade. The course has hosted several professional tournaments since its opening and has developed a reputation for consistent conditioning. In addition to the main course, a 9-hole Academy par 3 course opened in 2001, measuring 1,203 yards and also built to USGA specification, designed both as a beginner's learning ground and a short-game sharpener for established players. The wider facility includes a 24-bay floodlit driving range, a dedicated tuition centre, and a junior academy, making Styal one of the more comprehensively equipped club and academy venues in the northwest of England.

Serik 1 upcoming event

Sueno Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Belek, Antalya province, on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, approximately 30 minutes from Antalya International Airport. Both courses were designed by Bob Hunt of International Golf Design (formerly PGA Design Consulting) and opened in October 2007, set across a 150-hectare property of sandy soil amid dense umbrella pine forest close to the coastline. The Pines Course is the championship layout, playing to par 72 over 6,413 metres from the back tees, with a course rating of 74.5 and slope of 148. It is heavily wooded and narrow, with multiple lakes, strategic bunkering in both conventional and blow-out style, and several island and peninsula greens. The par-three 3rd plays over water to a peninsula green, and the 18th — a mid-length par four called "Mirage" — finishes at a green positioned in front of the hotel with water behind, widely regarded as one of Belek's most dramatic finishing holes. The Dunes Course plays to par 69 over 5,643 metres, offering a more open, links-influenced character shaped by sand ridges, waste bunkers, and island greens. It is more forgiving off the tee than the Pines but punishes wayward shots. The 18th features a prominent island green. Both courses are grassed with Bermuda throughout. No significant professional tournament history is on record for either layout.

The course was originally designed for the PGA Tour Champions and measures 6,838 yards at par 72.
