Spanish Wells Club is a 9-hole par 36 course originally designed by George Cobb and redesigned by Clyde Johnston in 2005, playing to 3,053 yards from the back tees. Located directly off the Intracoastal Waterway on the Calibogue Sound on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the course was built in the classic Lowcountry tradition and takes masterful advantage of the landscape as it meanders alongside quiet ponds and between majestic Live Oaks. The course features beautiful par 4s, challenging par 5s, and two strong par 3s, with separate tee boxes allowing for both front and back nine play. Spanish Wells was named for the freshwater wells on the property that were frequented by Spanish fleets in the 13th century, and these historic wells still exist on the property today.
