Originally designed by Willard Byrd and opened in 1983, the course underwent a renovation and was reimagined as an Arnold Palmer Signature course in 2011. The design combines strategic water hazards and natural features throughout the layout, with a course rating of 73.1-74.2 and slope rating of 130-150 depending on tees, making it a challenging test for players of all skill levels.

The course winds through the Wexford Plantation community, offering a traditional-style design with significant hazards coming into play on numerous holes.
