Philip J. Rotella Memorial Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 public course spanning 6,517 yards, originally designed by Hal Purdy and opened in 1984 on land in Haverstraw, New York. Located in Pomona on the grounds of the former Letchworth Custodial Property, the course occupies a scenic area designated for parks and recreation by the Town of Haverstraw.
The course underwent significant improvements in 1999 when architect Stephan Kay redesigned several holes, added new bunkers and tees, and completed construction by spring 2003. These enhancements focused on improving playability, safety, aesthetics, and pace of play. The layout features fairways, water hazards, and sand bunkers designed to challenge golfers of varying skill levels.
The course is maintained by the Town's Highway Department and course superintendent staff, with ongoing improvements including recently rebuilt tee boxes and bunkers. Named to honor longtime Town Supervisor Philip J. Rotella, the memorial course serves as a public facility offering a full range of amenities, including instruction, junior programs, and a practice driving range.
