Dellwood Country Club is a private 18-hole championship golf course located at 29 East Highway 96 in Dellwood, Minnesota. Established in 1970, the course spans 200 acres and features a USGA-rated short course measuring just over 3,000 yards for beginners. The layout offers six sets of tees, with yardages ranging from 5,350 yards on the Maroon tees to 7,050 yards on the Black tees. The course is maintained by Grounds Superintendent Eric Peterson, who oversees extensive drainage improvements including over five miles of drain tile added over the past decade to ensure playability in various weather conditions. The course is designed to balance challenge and playability, providing options for all skill levels. Recent capital improvements have included the installation of new Augusta White bunker sand in 2021 and a complete renovation of the driving range. The property holds certification from the USGA and Audubon International as an Audubon Sanctuary golf course, reflecting its commitment to ecologically sound land management, wildlife habitat conservation, and water conservation. The course features a rock landscaping area behind the ninth green designated as an Environmentally Sensitive Area. Dellwood Country Club has a significant history of hosting major regional and national qualifying events. Past tournaments include the 1973 Minnesota State Open, the 1974 Minnesota State Amateur, and the 1979 US Open Local Qualifying. The course has also hosted the 1983 MGA Senior Championship, the 1984 MN PGA Match Play Championship, and the 1987 MWGA Match Play Championship. More recent events include the 2013 MWGA Women’s State Amateur, the 2015 MGA MN State Four-Ball, the 2018 Women’s Minnesota State Open, and the 2024 Minnesota PGA Match Play. The club also hosts numerous weekly and special events for men, women, couples, and juniors throughout the season.
