Minisceongo Golf Club is an 18-hole championship private course in Pomona, New York, featuring par 72 with approximately 6,500-7,000 yards. Designed by Roy Case and Eric Bergstol, the course opened in 1994 on a historically significant site in Rockland County's Hudson Valley region. The property contains Native American artifacts from the Tappan Indians, with the course name believed to mean "small island" in their language. The course features bent grass greens and fairways.
The course is notable for its distinctive and challenging design that incorporates blind shots from virtually every tee except the par 3s, with greens hidden from view. Multiple strategic bunkers, some exceptionally deep requiring ladders for access, are positioned to penalize errant shots. The layout demands precise club selection and placement, featuring significant rough, water hazards, and tree-lined fairways that create a rigorous test of golf. Pin placements are deliberately challenging with greens featuring multiple breaks.
Minisceongo is a private members-only club designated as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" by Audubon International. The course accommodates private members and their guests, and hosts corporate golf outings by prior arrangement. The facility operates seasonally from April through December and includes practice amenities such as a driving range and putting green.
