The August Weekday Golf Competition is a monthly individual handicap competition held at Katsuragi Golf Club (葛城ゴルフ倶楽部) on weekdays throughout August 2026. The competition runs on multiple dates (August 3, 4, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 21, 26, and 27), with each date played on either the Yamana Course or the Ugari Course. Players compete individually using a double par-3 (alias) scoring system with handicap allowances, and monthly rankings are determined by aggregating scores across all competition dates — there are no individual daily rankings. The entry fee is ¥21,700 (tax included), which covers the green fee, four-ball caddie fee, cart fee, and miscellaneous expenses (food and beverages excluded). Additional caddie fees apply for extra bags: ¥1,320 per person for two bags and ¥3,300 per person for three bags. The competition is open to individual entrants (no team required), and prizes are awarded for first place, second place, and driving distance. Winners and prize recipients receive their prizes by mail after the monthly competition concludes. Reservations can be made by phone at 0120-317-562. Group numbers are limited.

Katsuragi Golf Club

静岡県, Japan

Located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Katsuragi Golf Club features a 36-hole facility split into two distinct 18-hole courses designed by renowned architect Makoto Inoue. The Yamana Course is a strategic layout set among beautiful tree lines with distant views of the Suruga Bay, while the Ugari Course utilizes the natural rolling hills of the region to create a spacious, rhythmic round. Both courses are set in the city of Fukuroi and offer contrasting playing experiences within the same club. The Yamana Course presents a formidable test with a par 72 and a length of 6,960 yards from the back tees. Its layout is characterized by a distinctive arrangement of ponds and bunkers that challenge a player's conquest instincts. The front nine opens with a generous par 4 that allows for a free drive, but the green is protected by a large mound and significant slope. The back nine features a demanding par-3 11th hole measuring 166 yards from the back tees, which serves as the club's recommended target for proximity contests. The Ugari Course also plays to a par 72, stretching to 6,912 yards from the back markers. This layout emphasizes the natural topography, offering a mix of holes that require power and others that demand precision. The opening hole is a reachable par 5 that sets an aggressive tone for the round. The course is known for its generous fairways, making it suitable for hosting events, though the undulating terrain ensures that accuracy remains paramount throughout the round. Katsuragi Golf Club has a significant history in professional golf, having served as the venue for the Yamaha Ladies Open Katsuragi. The club continues to host various tournaments and competitions, including the Pro-Am Challenge and various weekday golf competitions. The facility maintains a strong reputation for hosting professional events while providing a high-quality experience for its members and visiting golfers.
