Alderbrook Golf Course

OR

The Mook at Alderbrook is an 18-hole par-69 course measuring 5,965 yards. Originally designed and laid out by Lee Smith in 1925 on 95 acres of dairy farmland near Tillamook on Oregon's North Coast, the original 9 holes were built in 1924 and the second 9 added in 1966. The course is set at the edge of Tillamook's dairy country in the foothills of the Coast Range, featuring towering old-growth trees, crisp coastal air, and natural scenery. Elevated views from holes 6 and 16 showcase sweeping panoramas of the Tillamook Valley. The par-71 layout features three sets of tees and strategic design that welcomes newer golfers while still challenging seasoned players. Severe dog legs, tree-lined holes and elevated greens and teeboxes create the course's greatest challenge, while the short distances of many holes offer scoring opportunities. The 15th hole, a severely uphill par 3, was named one of the worst holes in Oregon by The Oregonian in 1994, though new owners are building an elevated tee box to make the approach less drastic. The course closed in October 2021 but was purchased by local investors in January 2023 and reopened on April 1, 2023, as The Mook at Alderbrook. With the new ownership, each hole has been named for a native tree, bush, or flower visible on that hole.
