Built in 1989 on reclaimed land through a joint effort between the City of Underwood and Falkirk Mining Company, the course features a distinctive design with nine greens and 18 tees, accommodating 18-hole play. The layout includes three water hazards and is characterized by a tree-lined design surrounded by golden prairie landscape, offering scenic views typical of the region's terrain. The course operates seasonally for six months per year. WestRidge Golf Course opened in 2001 and was designed by Jeff Brauer, playing to just over 7,000 yards with a par of 72. The layout is the only golf course in Texas with six par 5s, and the course features six par 3s and six par 4s as well, providing a complete golf experience. Located in McKinney, TX, the course is an 18-hole championship course offering memberships and public tee times. The course features Tiff Eagle Bermuda Grass greens, which yield some of the finest course playing conditions in the Dallas Fort Worth Metro Area. Brauer incorporated deep bunkers, natural areas, and lakes to accompany the huge, undulating greens. Notable drive-able par 4s at holes 1 and 13 are particularly playable during summer months as they play downwind and offer good birdie opportunities. The course flows across rolling terrain and weaves around grassy meadows, stands of trees, and occasional lakes and ponds. Since its opening in 2001, WestRidge has been named the "Best Mid Priced Golf Club" and the #5 Golf Club Overall by Avid Golfer Magazine. The course was voted best public course in 2006 by Dallas Golf Monthly.
