Union League Golf Club

PA

The 18-hole Union League course at the The Union League Golf Club At Torresdale facility in Philadelphia features 6,301 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course was designed by Donald Ross in 1920 and opened in 1921, with a restoration completed by Stephen Kay from 2014-17. The course is located just 12 miles northeast of Center City Philadelphia. Originally called Torresdale-Frankford Country Club, the course was a joining of two nine-hole layouts that began in the late 1890s, with the Ross design opening over a 200-acre parcel of land featuring two creeks running throughout the property. The par-70 layout has markers from 4,895 yards up to 6,609 yards and features a surprising amount of roll and elevation change so that every shot commands attention. For over 100 years, Torresdale has proved to be a tough test with every hole precisely placed over its rolling terrain. The course was largely neglected until 2014 when the Union League of Philadelphia acquired it and undertook a comprehensive restoration. Key events held at the course include the Philadelphia Open (1938, 54, 74, 86, 2000), Henry Hurst Invitational (1941), and Philadelphia Amateur Championship (1967, 1987, 2006). Sam Snead holds the course record of 64, which he set during the 1941 Philadelphia Open.

Union League Liberty Hill

PA

Union League Liberty Hill features an 18-hole Gary Player designed golf course that sprawls across 311 acres. The course features 7,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Formerly The Ace Club, built by the Chubb Foundation in 2003, Union League Liberty Hill is situated on a 311-acre rolling terrain. The modern design features large fairways and greens with scenic views and beautiful water features near the clubhouse. Spanning over 300 acres of rolling terrain punctuated by a strategic ravine, the course is notable for both its scale and complexity. From the championship tees, the course exceeds 7,400 yards, emphasizing the importance of length and precision. The intersecting ravine presents a unique topographical element, and the persistent wind and length collectively provide a rigorous test for golfers. The course's design, engineering and maintenance strategy earned it the elite Silver Signature Series designation in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. Three years after opening, Liberty Hill became host of the Exelon Invitational hosted by PGA Tour player and Pennsylvania native Jim Furyk.

Uniontown Country Club

PA

Although the course measures 6,115 yards, it presents challenges through smaller greens characteristic of historic designs, with well-groomed fairways and terrific greens maintaining difficulty while remaining accessible. The tee box on Hole 13 offers one of the best views in the city. The course maintains a challenging yet balanced difficulty profile suitable for various skill levels. University Golf Course

ID

The University of Idaho Golf Course is an 18-hole public facility on the campus of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. The par-72 layout ranges in length from 5,570 to 6,637 yards. The first nine holes were opened in 1937, designed by Englishman Francis L. "Frank" James, who had designed over a hundred courses. The second nine holes were constructed from 1968 to 1970, designed by golf course architect Bob E. Baldock, with the current clubhouse built in 1969. Set in the rolling hills of the Palouse of north central Idaho, the course sits at an average elevation of 2,650 feet, and the significant elevation changes, terraced fairways, and often breezy conditions contribute to make it a challenging track. The front nine provides scoring opportunities, featuring three par-5s in an open grassland venue, while the back nine tightens up into a narrow parkland theme, including two difficult par-3s, with the round concluding by running a gauntlet of three challenging holes known as "Heartbreak Ridge". The UI Golf Course is the home of the Vandal golf teams, which compete in the Big Sky Conference of the NCAA.
