Designed by legendary course architect Tom Dunn, the club features a 12-hole downland course set in a dramatic clifftop setting. The course offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, mainland, and English Channel, with rolling fairways and challenging terrain characteristic of downland golf.

The signature first hole is notably perched high above the English Channel, defining the course's spectacular coastal character. The layout includes dramatic coastal holes and pristine greens designed to accommodate golfers of varying skill levels, from beginners to experienced players. The course provides alternative tee boxes to suit different abilities.

The club is situated on the Isle of Wight's distinctive rolling downland landscape, creating a unique playing environment with island views throughout the round. Ventnor Golf Club maintains an emphasis on community and friendly competition, hosting regular golf competitions and offering inclusive membership opportunities alongside green fee play. The welcoming atmosphere and scenic beauty combine to create a distinctive golfing experience on the island.
