The Wizard is a Par 71 course designed by architect Dan Maples that opened in 1996 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The course features slick bent grass greens-a rarity in the South-plus stone bridges and a clubhouse built to resemble a medieval castle's ruins. Maples used dirt excavated from Man O'War to create mounds, sod-faced bunkers, and elevation changes that give The Wizard an Old World character. The Wizard is a course that favors precision and patience, with numerous holes where water or bunkers are not visible from the tee. The course earned a four-star rating from Golf Digest. The finishing Par 4 18th hole is surrounded by water, playing from an island tee box to an island fairway to a peninsula green, with Par constituting an outstanding score. The Wolverine is an 18-hole course designed by Gary Player in 1999. The course plays to par 72 and stretches 7045 yards from the back tees. Gary Player's first signature course in Michigan is designed to take full advantage of the Resort's diverse environment with flexibility, versatility, and playability accommodating golfers of all abilities through four sets of tees. Each nine is distinctive, with the front nine constructed on lowland terrain featuring water and wetlands that were enhanced to interweave with several holes, while the back nine is constructed on highland terrain with hardwoods, rolling hills, and views of East Grand Traverse Bay. The greens are undulating while water comes into play on 13 holes. Other features include strategically placed white-sand bunkers, several large lakes, rolling fairways, and gently contoured greens. The course record is 63, shot during the first round of the 2008 Michigan Open by Brian Stuard of Jackson, Michigan. The course is challenging for low handicappers, yet playable and enjoyable for high handicappers and is capable of being set up as a true test for professional tournaments.

The Woodlands is an 18-hole, regulation par 69, 5,400 yard golf course located at 9 Woodland Road in Hampton, near Hampton University. Donald Ross designed the original course and the current design was completed by Ed Ault in 1973. The course was originally built in 1916 and is listed in Golf Magazine as one of the "First 100 Clubs in America." The course has Bentgrass greens and Bermuda rough and fairways, with the Hampton River winding through the course and bringing water into play on 11 of the holes. The course includes 52 sand bunkers. While the short yardage may be deceiving, this is a shot maker's golf course. The course offers four sets of tee markers and is friendly to men, women, and children of all ages. The Woodlands is home to a number of popular area tournaments, among them the Hampton Amateur and the Virginia Tech Alumni. The course is characterized as always being in great shape no matter the season and offers an excellent test of shot making.
