The Woods Golf Club

The Woods Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in Whispering Pines, North Carolina, in the Sandhills region. Designed by Ellis Maples over thirty years ago, the course was carved from rolling, picturesque terrain characteristic of the area. The layout features a variety of shot requirements including left-to-right doglegs, short and long holes, and both uphill and downhill shots that provide versatility for different skill levels.

The course is designed to challenge good players while remaining accessible to average golfers. From the back tees, it measures 6,324 yards with a rating of 70.2 and a slope of 133. Multiple tee boxes accommodate golfers of all abilities. The Woods underwent significant renovation in 2013, with the installation of 18 new Champion Bermuda Ultradwarf greens that enhance playability and complement the natural rolling terrain. Well-maintained conditions throughout showcase the quality of the original design while modern upgrades have improved the playing experience.
