The Links At Norman

OK

Located less than three miles from the campus of the University of Oklahoma, The Links at Norman is an 18-hole golf course that winds around and through The Links and Greens at Norman apartment complex. Designed by Lindy Lindsey in 2010, The Links at Norman sports a fun and varied collection of holes that ramble on the mostly open, rolling terrain of what was once a sheep farm. The Links at Norman features four sets of tees that extend the par-71 playing field from 4,833 yards to 6,519 yards. The fairways, dotted by cedar and elm trees, are narrow here, with out of bounds looming on many swings, as does the threat of hitting an apartment building on a handful of holes. The Links at Norman challenges players to be accurate on its very tight front nine, but the course opens up a bit more on the back nine. Water enters the fray on several holes and adds excitement with a few forced carries over ponds and a centerpiece lake. The bentgrass greens are intriguing—they are small and undulating with some big breaks. Over the years, the course has appeared on Golf Advisor's list of the Top Courses in Oklahoma, and it has also earned honors for being one of the top courses in the country for pace of play.
