The Henley

Victoria

The Henley Golf Course, designed by Tony Cashmore, opened on 8 October 2006. The par of the course is 72 and the length is 6343 yards. This traditional links course was designed by Tony Cashmore and contrasts beautifully with the stadium style St John. The Heritage Golf and Country Club is located approximately 45 kilometres east-north-east from Melbourne's CBD, in the suburb of Chirnside Park, Victoria, Australia. Weaving through wetlands and oxbow tundra carved by the river, The Henley rises alongside the Warrandyte State Forest. The Henley has the traditional 'nine holes out and nine holes in.' This course boasts the longest par 4 in Australia and will test the most talented players. Water and wetlands dominate the scene for most of the front nine. Cashmore's fairways are generously wide, while the greens are large and receptive so the water hazards can easily be avoided with good ball-striking. Holes are mostly routed within a sunken river floodplain but briefly rise on the back nine to reach an elevated plateau. Here the layout winds around a rather broad hillside, before plunging back to the river flat area at the controversial par four 16th. The course officially opened back in 2006. The Heritage Classic scheduled 12-15 March 2026, marks the third year of a three-year agreement between Heritage Golf Country Club and the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia. The success of the 2024 and 2025 Heritage Classic has given confidence to deliver an even more successful event in 2026.
