The Highlands has tighter, tree-lined fairways and slightly sloped greens, making it a fun course for less experienced golfers while still proving challenging for veterans. The River, a par 72 course, offers unique play along and across the Little Pigeon River. Maxing out at 7,120 yards, this course is the more challenging of the two. Most holes contain water hazards, and a fair number of bunkers are located throughout. The course is situated against the backdrop of the Great Smoky Mountains and was recently named Best Public Golf Course the last two years by the Tennessee Turfgrass Association. Sevierville Golf Club hosts many large-scale tournaments, including the TSSAA High School Tennessee State Golf Championship, the American Junior Golf Association Preview Qualifier, and the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate Championship.
