Set within a natural parkland landscape featuring hilly terrain, the course offers a challenging but fair round of golf for players of all levels. The layout is surrounded by quiet nature, including ponds and thousands of shady trees, providing a distinct setting within the city. The course measures from 4,980 yards from the red tees to 6,565 yards from the blue tees, with white tees offering an intermediate distance. The front nine totals 36 strokes, with the back nine also totaling 36, creating a balanced test. Key holes include the tight first hole, which demands a precise drive to avoid bunkers on either side, leading to a short iron approach on a green that slopes back to front. The seventh hole is a dog-leg left par-5 that rewards long hitters who can reach the green in two, though the prudent play is a layup to ensure a short iron for the third shot. The back nine features significant challenges, including the seventeenth hole, a par-5 that offers a risk-reward scenario for the second shot. Players must decide whether to attack the small, undulating green or lay up for a more manageable third shot. The eighteenth hole serves as a demanding par-4 finish, requiring a precise drive down a fairway bunkered on the left with water guarding the right side.
