Rathsallagh Golf Club was designed by Peter McEvoy and the late Christy O'Connor Jnr and first opened in 1995. The championship course measures close to 7,000 yards with a par of 72, set on 270 acres of rolling parkland. It sits in beautiful parkland near Dunlavin Co Wicklow with mature woodland lining all the fairways. The course is built to championship standard, routed over rolling terrain with a number of burns, ditches and ponds that bring water into play on several holes.
The bunkers are described as offering some of the best in Ireland both in terms of construction and intelligent placement. The greens were built to the highest USGA specification. The course was recently reconfigured so that play begins and ends in front of the clubhouse, and a new Par 3 hole was built in the woods between the old 1st and 2nd holes as the signature hole. The course has been officially listed in the top 30 of Ireland's finest golf courses, and is regarded by many as one of the best parkland courses in Ireland and has been home to important domestic tournaments.
