Pagosa Springs Golf Club is a public resort facility with 27 championship holes made up by three 9-hole courses: Meadows, Pinon and Ponderosa, all courses surrounded by views of the San Juan Mountains. The courses originally opened on July 15, 1973, with the courses now known as Pinon and Ponderosa. The designer is Johnny Bulla, and the year opened was 1980. The Pinon Nine is a mountain course with ponderosa trees bordering the fairway. Hole #2 consists of a very difficult uphill and long par 4 with a sloping green making it the hardest hole on the course. Hole #5 is a memorable Par 5 that has a fairway that narrows down towards the green with mature Ponderosas bordering the fairway.
