Pecanwood

North West

Pecanwood was the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course in South Africa and opened for play in 1998. Nestled on the southern banks of Hartbeespoort Dam in North West, South Africa, the 18-hole championship course is the first Jack Nicklaus Signature design in the southern hemisphere. The course is 7000 metres and offers three tee options to cater for all levels of golfer. At the time of opening it was the longest course in the country, with a rating of 76 from the back tees. The construction involved 13,000 yards of undersoil drainage lines, 6,000 transplanted trees, five lakes and twelve acres of bunkers. The course is situated on the southern banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam, less than an hour from Pretoria, and enjoys lavish views of the Magaliesberg Mountains. The fairways are knitted with Kikuyu and the greens are kept fast thanks to their Crenshaw Bent coating. Although the course is flat, there are high mounds, carefully crafted water features and strategically placed bunkers set amid scenic mountain surrounds and vast expanses of water. There is 4.5 hectares of sand, with bunkers placed in strategic positions on every hole, requiring straight driving as a premier requirement. The signature hole is the beautiful par 3, 13th hole that plays alongside the dam to a green flanked on both sides by bunkers. Pecanwood hosted its first DP World Tour event in March 2022, won by Pablo Larrazabal, and later hosted the HotelPlanner Tour in February 2025, won by Danie van Tonder. Upon its opening in 1998, it was voted the best new course of the year by Golf Digest magazine.

Peddie School Golf Course

NJ

The Peddie School Golf Course is an 18-hole par-72 course at the Peddie Golf Club facility in East Windsor, New Jersey, featuring 6,278 yards of golf from the longest tees. The course opened in 1930. Narrow fairways, small greens and formidable trees make the course a challenge, while its relatively short length keeps older golfers in the game and well-designed doglegs and par 5s keep big hitters on their toes. The signature hole is #4, a 380-yard par 4 with a tree-lined fairway and water sitting in front of the green. The par 72 course has an unusual combination of five par 3s and five par 5s, and while the par 3s are short, few golfers are able to take advantage of them, and the length and layout of the par 5s make it difficult to make up strokes. The course is where the boys' and girls' golf teams of Peddie School compete, and while it is a private facility of the Peddie Golf Club, students and faculty have free access to the greens.
