Pender Island Golf Club is a nine-hole public golf course located in a valley near Otter Bay on Pender Island, British Columbia. One of the province's most beautiful courses, it features four elevated tee boxes and expansive views across the valley layout. The course is designed to be deceptively challenging while remaining accessible to all skill levels, with six separate tees available for the back nine.
The signature hole is the par-3 eighth, which plays 230 yards over water to an undulating three-tiered green. This hole features two elevated tee areas and includes a replica of the Stone Bridge at St Andrews, with extensive rockwork on both the eighth and ninth holes creating a spectacular setting. The valley location provides a scenic backdrop, with bald eagles frequently visible overhead.
Founded in 1937 by local residents and incorporated as a society in 1945, the club has operated continuously since its inception with significant member volunteer involvement in maintenance and development. The course remains open year-round, weather permitting, and welcomes both public play and visiting tournaments. Facilities include a golf shop, putting green, power carts, pull carts, and rental clubs, along with a clubhouse restaurant.
