The course hosted the Kentucky Open in 1996 and 2000, along with the NCAA Regional Championship in 2002 and 2004. The course is where Arnold Palmer learned to play the game of golf from his father. About 75 percent of the trees found on the course today were planted by Deacon Palmer.
