Latrobe Country Club is a 6,517-yard, par-72 course nestled along a winding path through 110 acres of mature trees and manicured fairways. The course layout sports 18 holes of mostly bent grass tees, fairways and greens. From the championship tees, the course has a course rating of 72.5 with a slope of 139. Located near Latrobe, Pennsylvania in Unity Township in Westmoreland County, the course is situated south of Latrobe and nearer Youngstown.

Originally emerging from a hilly plot of ground as a short but imaginative nine-hole course when founded in 1920-1921, the course was expanded and improved significantly after Arnold Palmer purchased the club in 1971, with many of the holes being revised and lengthened, and a modern irrigation system installed. A picturesque creek comes into play on several challenging holes on the back nine, and the course features beautiful red covered bridges designed by Palmer to provide weather protection, which have become so popular that artists and photographers from across the United States visit to capture their image.

The course is where Arnold Palmer learned to play the game of golf from his father. About 75 percent of the trees found on the course today were planted by Deacon Palmer. The course presents a demanding challenge with fast, difficult greens and narrow fairways, and features strategic layouts requiring accurate play off the tee to avoid the dense tree-lined rough.
