Lakeland CC is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course located in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Situated at the base of Mount Kogashi, the layout is designed by Hiroshi Umezawa and opened in May 1978. The course features two distinct green configurations, designated as Green A and Green B, which alter the yardage and difficulty for play. Green A measures 6,902 yards from the regular tees with a course rating of 72.0, while Green B measures 6,659 yards with a rating of 70.8. The terrain is characterized by undulating fairways and strategic hazards that challenge golfers throughout the round. The front nine on the Green A configuration plays to 3,444 yards, while the back nine covers 3,458 yards. Key holes include the long par-5 1st hole, which stretches to 529 yards from the regular tees, and the demanding par-5 12th hole at 549 yards. The course also features several par-3s, including the 15th at 180 yards and the 17th at 201 yards, which require precise approach shots. Obstacles such as water hazards and bunkers are integrated into the design to test accuracy. The 3rd hole features a water hazard where players must take a three-stroke penalty drop, while the 17th hole also carries water risks. Several holes, including the 5th, 9th, 12th, and 16th, carry Out of Bounds (OB) penalties, requiring players to advance four strokes for relief. The course utilizes Bent A and Bent B grass varieties for its putting surfaces. Lakeland CC has a recorded amateur course record of 68, set by Shozo Koike during a monthly cup event in August 2006. The facility includes a 250-yard driving range with 15 hitting bays. The course is operated by O&K Co., Ltd., a company associated with the Onward Group, which has managed the property since its rebranding from Kogashi Country Club in 1988.
