The Lakes Course is one of two championship courses at Genoa Golf Club, located in Genoa, Nevada in the Carson Valley region. Co-designed by PGA Champion Peter Jacobsen and John Harbottle III, this links-style course features rolling fairways set against the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The 18-hole championship layout spans approximately 7,100 yards and incorporates water hazards into 14 of its holes, with lush wetlands and the winding Carson River creating strategic challenges throughout play.

The course emphasizes the importance of long, straight driving due to its water-heavy design and rolling terrain. Situated at the base of the Sierra Nevada in the historic town of Genoa, the Lakes Course offers spectacular mountain vistas and wildlife viewing opportunities. The course has served as the home venue for the U.S. Open Qualifier, recognizing its championship-caliber playing conditions and design standards. Its combination of natural wetlands, river features, and mountain backdrop creates a challenging yet visually striking layout suitable for experienced golfers.
