Located in Eastern Las Vegas with Sunrise Mountain in the distance, The Club at Sunrise was originally opened as The Winterwood Golf Club and designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee in 1964. As part of the larger Las Vegas Wash Project, the club underwent a full renovation by golf course architect Randy Heckenkemper in 2016. At 6,503 yards, the par-72 golf course offers a unique golfing experience with picturesque golf holes carefully contoured and designed to appeal to all levels of playability.
The most talked-about test is Hole #4, a daunting 607-yard par-5 where most players need three solid swings just to reach the small, well-guarded green with deep grass and sand bunkers protecting the target. The soft Bermuda turf and mature pine trees create a relaxed, traditional atmosphere, while the waterway that winds through the property has been improved through recent renovations and provides a strategic challenge on both nines. The course serves as the host site for the Annual Clark County Amateur, a tournament where PGA Tour players such as Craig Barlow and Robert Gamez once claimed victories.
The facility features a driving range and short game practice area, an event lawn, and a newly constructed clubhouse complete with a golf shop and The Winterwood Grille restaurant. The Club at Sunrise is municipally owned by Clark County Parks & Recreation and managed by KemperSports.
