The 18-hole course was designed by Arnold Hemquist. The course features 6,132 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72, with a course rating of 69.3 and a slope rating of 120. The Par 72 layout is defined by great greens and the variety of shots golfers encounter over 18 holes of tree lined fairways. The traditional design features oak, maple, pine, ash, and birch trees lining all the fairways, testing accuracy off the tee. The course includes 11 bunkers and 11 water hazards. Balmoral was voted by Golf Digest as one of Minnesota's "Best Places to Play" and was voted the "Area's Favorite Golf Course" in a 2004 online poll of 8 area courses by Craig Olson Sports.
