Ballykisteen Championship Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Des Smyth and opened in 1993. Located near Limerick Junction in County Tipperary, the course sits in the Golden Vale with the Galtee Mountains providing a scenic backdrop. Built on the grounds of the former Ballykisteen Stud, the layout utilizes natural contours and tree-lined surroundings.

The course is designed to suit all handicap levels and features high-quality putting surfaces. Water hazards and bunkers feature prominently on 11 holes, adding to the challenge. The signature 6th hole is particularly notable—a 230-yard elevated tee shot to a green surrounded by water on three sides with out-of-bounds left, which Smyth described as "probably the most difficult in the country." The course is constructed to championship standards and is a popular venue for societies, corporate groups, and tournament play.
