Located in Nimbō, Nanto District, Tochigi Prefecture, Hoshinomiya Country Club is a 18-hole, par 72 golf course designed by Toshiro Noda. Opened in October 1968, the facility operates as a forest-style course, utilizing electromagnetic induction five-person carts for play. The layout is divided into an outward nine and an inward nine, with yardage varying based on the tee and green combinations selected. The back tees on the A greens measure 3,225 yards for the outward nine and 3,421 yards for the inward nine, while the B greens offer slightly shorter distances of 3,184 and 3,291 yards respectively. The outward nine presents a mix of mid-length challenges and strategic hazards. The first hole is a long par 4 that requires players to navigate away from a side bunker on the left. The second hole, a par 3, features a road running along the left side that serves as an out-of-bounds zone, while the green is backed by an immovable wooden wall. The fifth hole introduces water hazards, with a creek crossing the fairway and a pond on the right, demanding precise approach shots. The ninth hole, the handicap 1 hole, is a long par 5 recommended for driving contests, with an out-of-bounds line running along the right side. The inward nine continues the test with narrow fairways and significant tree placement. The tenth hole is a par 4 where keeping the drive on the fairway is essential due to the tight landing area. The twelfth hole, a par 4, requires a full driver shot to avoid a central tree, with out-of-bounds restrictions on the left near the road. The thirteenth hole is a demanding long par 3, stretching 211 yards from the back tees on the A greens. The fifteenth hole is a substantial par 5 at 564 yards from the back tees, offering a chance for birdie but requiring careful management of the long distance. The course features two sets of bentgrass greens and offers varying tee positions for regular and ladies' play. The facility is managed by Tobu Golf Service Co., Ltd., part of the Tobu Group. The course is open to the public with a membership program available, and play is restricted to cart golf. The layout is designed to test accuracy off the tee and precision on approach shots, with numerous trees and water hazards defining the strategic elements of the round.
