Formerly known as Flaxmere Golf Club, it is the youngest of four major golf courses in the Hawke's Bay region. The course was designed by Commander John Harris and features a layout with moderate undulation across many holes. The course incorporates 37 bunkers and several water hazards throughout the design. While the course is noted as being long, the moderate undulation on many holes provides a balanced challenge for players of varying abilities. Hawkes Bay is a 9-hole course at The Villages Executive Golf Trail facility in Lady Lake, Florida, featuring 1,333 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 28. The course opened in 1999. Taking its name from the wildlife preserve that runs alongside several fairways, Hawkes Bay is known for its undulating greens, large bunkers and the moguls that can transform a good shot into a tricky uphill or downhill lie without warning.
