Hawkestone Golf Club is situated on the banks of the Kakariki wetlands on Kakariki Road between Halcombe and State Highway 1 in the Manawatu/Rangitikei region. Founded in 1930 as the club for the working man and his family, Hawkestone Golf Club has a long tradition as the friendly and accessible club for all golfers. The mature course consists of nine fairways with 18 tee blocks and two pin placements per green. The par of Hawkestone Golf Club is 34.

The club is situated less than 10 minutes from Bulls, on the banks of the newly created Kakariki lakes with views of the Manawatu/Rangitikei region. The course is flat and in a lovely setting with mature trees, with no bunkers across the course. The course is well set up for players of all levels from the learner to the low handicapper A grade pennants player. The club's strategic plan focuses on participation and inclusion with an emphasis on youth, women and girls and players of all physical abilities.
