Designed by renowned Club member A.W. Tillinghast in 1920, the Wissahickon course opened for play in 1922 and underwent a complete restoration in 2013-2014. This 18-hole championship course is a masterwork of Tillinghast's design genius, featuring distinctive greens, dramatic greenside bunkering, and trademark holes including the iconic par-5 7th hole with its central "Great Hazard" bunker. The course plays at 7,119 yards with a course rating of 74.8 and a slope rating of 140, presenting a challenging layout. The name "Wissahickon" comes from the Lenape word for "Catfish Stream," and the Wissahickon Creek runs adjacent to the course, with Lorraine Run flowing through the property. An abandoned Reading Railroad track runs through the course along the 6th and 11th holes, adding a distinctive character to the design. The PGA Tour's Truist Championship moved to Philadelphia Cricket Club in 2025, with the Wissahickon course hosting the event. Wissahickon was ranked #98 in Golf Magazine's top 100 United States course rankings for 2024-25.
