Spotswood Country Club is an 18-hole layout nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, originally designed by Fred Finley and Edmund Ault. The course opened with nine holes in 1926 designed by Fred Findley, with the original nine renovated in 1960 by Ed Ault, and the back nine added in 1965 by Alex McKay. Par for the course is 72, and from the back tees it plays to 6,451 yards, with Bent Grass greens and Rye Grass fairways.

The course features a unique layout characterized by hilly terrain and small, undulating greens that test players' skills while providing a visually stunning experience. The course features tree-lined fairways, with a few sand bunkers on the course and water coming into play on a number of holes. Hole 7, a 412-yard par-4, is the #1 handicap hole on the course.

Members and their guests enjoy a wide variety of golf activities including tournaments and special events, private or group instruction, men's and ladies teams and leagues, and junior programs. The club operates as a private facility with premier facilities including elegant dining options, a community, golf, tennis, pool, and clubhouse amenities.
