Sag Harbor State Golf Course is a 48.8-acre, 9-hole golf facility located in the town of East Hampton in Suffolk County, New York. Situated on a peninsula and surrounded by woodlands, bluffs and wetlands, the course may be played as nine or 18 holes. The course features 2,475 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35.
The course first opened in 1926 and was run by a group of volunteers for over half a century. The property was acquired by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in 1989 and taken over by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in 1997. The most distinguishing feature is the small size of the greens, requiring pinpoint accurate approach shots for a chance to shoot par, and the greens tend to run fast. The seventh hole is the only par-5 on the course, a straight shot under 400 yards.
