Royal Óbidos is an 18-hole championship course measuring 6,695 metres from the back tees, located near the historic town of Óbidos on Portugal's Silver Coast, approximately one hour north of Lisbon. The course was inaugurated in 2012 and was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, one of his final completed works. The layout occupies undulating terrain on a hillside above the Óbidos Lagoon, with Atlantic Ocean views becoming prominent across the back nine.

The course is routed in two distinct halves. The opening hole is a right-handed dogleg heading north, establishing a sequence of holes that overlook the Óbidos Lagoon, with the highlight of the front nine being the 5th, a 520-metre par 5 played to a large undulating green surrounded on three sides by water. Also notable on the front nine is the 3rd, a 144-metre par 3 played to an island green with the lagoon as backdrop. The back nine features six holes winding through a network of interconnected lakes and cascading streams, with the 12th — a 420-metre par 4 — requiring the golfer to navigate both drive and approach between and over two lakes. The closing hole is a par 5 with panoramic views back over the course and out to the Atlantic.

Water is the defining hazard throughout, and the layout demands accurate approach play to greens that feature significant undulation. The course plays from multiple tee positions, making it accessible to a wide range of handicaps while presenting a genuine championship test from the back tees.
