RiverTowne Country Club is located off Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant and features an 18-hole championship course designed by Arnold Palmer, with 13 holes situated along the Wando River and Horlbeck Creek among scenic marshlands. The course offers tree-lined fairways and multi-tiered greens guarded by bunkers and water. The course plays 7,188 yards at par 72 with a slope of 145, and functions as a true shot-maker's course that is both challenging for seasoned golfers and approachable for public play. The course has been awarded 4.5 stars by Golf Digest and was named Charleston Golf Course of the Year in 2015. RiverTowne has hosted two LPGA Tour events, establishing itself as a notable championship venue. The back nine is the tougher of the two, more tree-lined initially but opens to Horlbeck Creek which runs alongside two-thirds of the holes.
