Bulls Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course measuring 7,220 yards, built in 2002 and designed by Mike Strantz. Located in Awendaw, South Carolina, set against the Atlantic Ocean and tidal salt marshes, the course was transformed by Strantz from a flat stretch of Lowcountry coastline into a landscape reminiscent of the great links courses of Scotland and Ireland. Roughly two million cubic yards of earth were moved to reshape the site. Strantz created 75-foot elevation changes and 360-degree views, with firm sandy turf and ever-present wind off the ocean providing a true links golf experience.
The course features a mix of long and short par 4s, four diverse par 3s, and two par 5s, including the 597-yard 2nd hole wrapping around a lake and the 377-yard 9th. The clubhouse sits atop elevated terrain and serves as a focal point, with several holes playing into and off the high ground. Only twice on the entire routing do consecutive holes play in the same direction—a distinction comparing favorably to Shinnecock Hills. The course is ranked 26th in South Carolina for 2025-'26.
