Opunake Golf Club

Opunake Golf Club is an 18-hole course located approximately three kilometres north of Opunake along Namu Road in Taranaki. The course features par 71 for both men and women, with the men's course measuring 5,309 metres and the ladies' course 4,809 metres. The relatively flat layout is interspersed with occasional lahar mounds that add topographical interest. Tree-lined fairways frame the course, while sheep graze the fairways as part of the landscape management. The setting offers scenic views of both the sea and surrounding mountains. The course presents a moderate difficulty level, combining the natural terrain variations of lahar formations with the sheltered tree-lined design. These characteristics create an engaging layout suitable for golfers of varying abilities while maintaining the distinctive character of the rural Taranaki landscape.
