Established in 1924 as Meadowbrook Country Club, Meadowbrook at Clayton is an 18-hole, par 72 course designed by renowned golf course architect Alex "Nipper" Campbell. The course features 6,472 yards from the longest tees with a course rating of 70.9 and a slope rating of 131. The course has a traditional layout with a shorter length typical of courses built in that era, featuring rolling, tree-lined fairways and menacing greens framed by bunkers. Campbell designed the course with playability in mind, making it a fair test that accommodates a wide range of skill levels.
The historic public golf course features magnificently tree-lined fairways with scenic settings. The facility offers well-maintained practice putting greens and a driving range. Meadowbrook at Clayton serves as the home golf course for the Northmont High School Golf Program. The course was previously operated as a private country club before becoming a municipal public course.
